Do you love the colours of the sun and the earth? This hand-woven luxury geometric cushion is woven with hot ocre, red-earth and pink on an off-white base punctuated by black. This cotton cushion (measuring 50 cm x 30 cm) has a playful pattern with two opposing stripes, vertical and horizontal, and is carefully woven to create a decorative item that lasts.
This elegant graphic cushion will add a warm contemporary feel to your living room or bedroom decor, it sits perfectly alone or alongside one of our other Kente cushions, we recommend that you pair with Diamond or the To+Fro (opposing stripes!)
Description of the woven kente cushion Rhythmic
The Kente textile patterns of the Ewe people of Eastern Ghana traditionally play with simple repetition. In the studio our designer Sara Efia Reddin has creatively played with these motifs, updating them with new colours and pared down combinations. Woven by Master Weavers in the Volta region of Ghana, these cotton cushions are piece of craft heritage.
Technics used to make the kente cushion Rhythmic
Kente weaving is a a traditional African weaving technic from Ghana. The weaving is perfectly tight and smooth and consist of elaborate geometric patterns repeated on fine strips of fabric. Woven on a traditional loom in strips of around 15cm. The strips are then sewn together to create a beautiful patchwork cloth. The cushions are made by a local seamstress.
This cushion takes around 3 days to weave.

Please do not forget that this cushion is woven by hand and the slight differences in pattern repeat and colour are completely normal. Please also remember that the material is natural and therefore we do not recommend them for use outside or on terraces.
The colours are natural and may fade if placed in direct sunlight.
